Cedia 2009 Sneak Peak
Amina will be featuring several new products in their AIW line. The main "new speaker product" featured will be a ported, low-frequency enhancement sub, specifically developed to provide extended LF response for low and mid-power applications, where conventional subwoofers are not an option. Designed in the spirit of the Amina Sound Unseen brands, the sub provides fantastic sonic performance with minimal visual impact. The sub's ported design allows for a custom finish, including its use with conventional GU10 trim rings, blending-in between light fixtures. The sub is small enough to be hidden within ceiling joist, or alternatively can be fitted between joists or studs, or hidden within furniture for alternate locations, provided sufficient mounting space. Also being introduced are new additions to the APU Passive High Pass/Protection Units, which affords the AIW series the 10-year residential warranty. Using low distortion torroidal coils and high quality componenets, the new APU-R series provides a sleek, 1U high 19" rack-mountable steel chassis solution with 120 Hz HP-filter and protection for all the AIW series speakers. For ease of installation, 2 speaker cable wiring solutions shall be available, Neutrix NL connectors, and Phoenix solderless quick-connect blocks using their patented cable clamping solution for super fast connections in the field. The unit will be available with 6 or 8 channels of 3rd order HP filters, affording the installer a compact, professional, safe and quick install.

Crestron HDMI Transmitter/Receiver Pair Now Shipping
Crestron has released an HDMI-over-fiber transmitter and receiver pair that provides a remarkably powerful, easy to install solution for extending uncompressed HDMI and IR/RS-232 control signals up to 1000 feet over a single multimode fiber connection. Ideal for commercial and residential retrofits, the HD-TX1-F and HD-RX1-F make it easy to add an HDMI device in an analog room, or extend an HDMI signal and device control from, for example, a home theater to another room or area in or around the home.
New Crestron iPod Controller Supports Video
The new CEN-IDOCV is the next generation interface and control solution for the popular iPod personal media player. DMCI Signal Integration released
The DMCI is a compact, rack-mountable enclosure designed to house a single DM Input Card to accept any AV source, including all analog audio and video, computer, HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort signals, and output those signals as HDMI. DMCI even handles USB-HID over Ethernet for remote wireless keyboard/mouse control and USB-HID signals and output those signals as HDMI. Combining the DMCI with a HD-MD8x1 or HD-MD8x2 QuickSwitch HD HDMI switcher, provides the only fully integrated source switching solution for modern home theaters, meeting rooms and classrooms that include a variety of different signal formats that all must be displayed on 1080p displays via HDMI.

Product End of Life-Lexicon MC-8 and JBL Synthesis SDP-5: Both the MC-8 and SDP-5 preamp/processors have been workhorse digital controllers for many years now offering both great sound and ease of use. However, both these products lack many of the new features such as HDMI that are required by Harman customers. While Harman still feels that these products offer great value and incredible sound quality they regrettably will be ending production. New Revel Performa B150 Subwoofer

Mechoshade will be debuting at Cedia their Sundialer --a 12 zone daylight harvesting controller which can integrate into home control systems. Also being shown at Cedia is the new IQ motor line -- a quiet 110v motor that plugs directly into an outlet and offers direct dry contact communication and self powers auxiliary control options like the MechoRF 2 zone Zigbee controller.

Mechoshade will be debuting their new fabric collection and sales presentation kit (consisting of three binders) at Cedia--Solar sunscreens, fashion fabrics, and woven woods and grasses. Salitek Demo Sites

Vaddio Product Discontinuation: Long Range EZ Cable System
Vaddio has discontinued the Long Range EZ Camera Cable System for the Sony EVI-D70 PTZ Camera (998-9400-070). In addition, Vaddio will no longer offer the Long Range EZCamera cable system in the DomeVIEW indoor and outdoor systems-they will instead come with the standard EZCamera Cable system.

New lifts being introduced at Cedia
Wood is introducing two new lifts at Cedia this year, the TS1000 and the TS760. The TS1000 is the newest version of Wood's Whisper Ride TV lift (TS750). The TS1000 has a total travel of 39.37" (versus 29.5" for the TS750) and it will accomodate screen sizes of 50" and larger. The TS760 is the newest version of Wood's Versalift (TS460). The TS760 has a total travel of 29.92" (versus 18" for the TS460). Also, the TS460 has a much smaller profile of only 2.56" (versus approximately 3.31" for the TS460).
